Vista PEAK P-8 Grand Opening

Please join Aurora Public Schools for a grand opening celebration at the new Vista PEAK P-8 Exploratory School on Monday, August 2 at 5:00pm. Superintendent John L. Barry, the Board of Education and Vista PEAK staff will host the ribbon-cutting ceremony. The celebration will include building tours, free food and entertainment.

Vista PEAK P-8 is located on the APS P-20 Campus and will serve students from preschool through eighth grade (the school will also serve ninth-grade students in 2010-11).В  Vista PEAK Preparatory, a comprehensive high school, will open in August 2011 on the same campus. Aurora Public Schools is the first school district in Colorado, and possibly in the nation, to develop a campus around the P-20 educational model. The Vista PEAK campus will be a cutting-edge model for 21st century education, where all students will have the opportunity to participate in career pathways to prepare them for college and career success. We are grateful to Aurora voters for supporting the 2008 Bond that made this project possible.

Vista PEAK is located at 24551 East 1st Avenue near Sixth Avenue and Harvest Road in southeast Aurora. For a map and driving directions, please visit http://vistapeak.aurorak12.org/vp-home/contact-us/. Parking will be available in the parking lots on the west and east sides of the school.

Please RSVP by July 28 to the APS Communication Department at 303-365-7805, or e-mail czhicks@aps.k12.co.us. We look forward to celebrating the grand opening with our community members, families and staff.
